In the King James Version Bible, the words “faith,” “believe,” and “belief” appear 391 times throughout both the Old and New Testaments, emphasizing that faith is foundational to a relationship with God.
In Matthew 21:21, Jesus said, “If ye have faith, and doubt not…” directly linking faith with the absence of doubt. This teaching is reinforced in James 1:6, which instructs believers to “ask in faith, nothing wavering,” showing that true biblical faith requires confidence in God without hesitation.
In the King James Version Bible, faith is essential to a relationship with God. Hebrews 11:6 states, “But without faith it is impossible to please him,” showing that belief is not optional. Faith without doubt demonstrates full trust in God’s existence and His promises.
Jesus taught in Matthew 17:20 that even a small amount of true faith has great power, saying that faith as a grain of mustard seed can move mountains. This illustrates that the strength of faith is not in its size, but in its certainty and lack of doubt.
Romans 10:17 states, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This confirms that faith is developed through exposure to Scripture, making the Word of God the foundation for building unwavering belief.
In Mark 2:3–5, a paralyzed man was brought to Jesus by four men. The Scripture says, “When Jesus saw their faith…” He forgave and healed the man. This demonstrates that Christ responded not only to individual faith, but also to the faith of those interceding on behalf of another.
In Matthew 15:21–28, a Canaanite woman sought deliverance for her daughter. Jesus said, “O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” Her daughter was made whole because of her persistent, unwavering faith.
In Mark 4:40, Jesus asked His disciples, “Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” This connects fear with a lack of faith, indicating that fear can lead to doubt and hinder trust in God.
James 2:17 states, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” This teaches that true faith is not only believed but also demonstrated through action.
2 Corinthians 5:7 states, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” This shows that true faith without doubt relies on God’s truth rather than visible circumstances.
Proverbs 3:5 instructs believers to “trust in the Lord with all thine heart.” Faith without doubt reflects a full reliance on God rather than partial or divided trust.
Romans 4:20 says Abraham “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief.” This demonstrates that faith without doubt allows believers to fully trust that God will fulfill what He has spoken.
James 1:6–8 teaches, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” In the King James Bible, this passage emphasizes that doubt and wavering are not minor spiritual issues—they directly affect a believer’s ability to receive from God and live a consistent Christian life. The imagery of a wave “driven with the wind and tossed” portrays someone whose thoughts, decisions, and actions are constantly moved by external circumstances rather than anchored in God’s Word. A “double minded man” refers to someone whose heart is divided between faith in God and trust in worldly outcomes, creating instability in every area of life—spiritual, emotional, and even relational. Faith without doubt, on the other hand, brings steadiness because the believer is fully grounded in God’s promises, trusting that His Word is unchanging and His power is sufficient. When faith is unwavering, the believer is able to approach prayer with confidence, make decisions with clarity, and walk daily in obedience without being tossed by fear, uncertainty, or external pressures. This passage teaches that the stability of the Christian life is not found in circumstances, but in unwavering trust in the Lord, making faith without doubt essential for spiritual maturity and effective Christian living.
